Having unwillingly spent a lot of time in and around airports this Christmas I’ve noticed that there are two definite types of people: those who travel smart and those who travel comfy.

Today I travelled smart, as always, but now I’m back in Paris I’m going for a McDonald’s before getting ready for work this evening. (My excuse? I’ve been away, there’s no food in the fridge).

A few days ago I rang my mother.

Me: Mum, would you be offended if I came back to England this month but didn’t come home to see you?

Mum: Well …… it’s your life, Matthew, you can do whatever you like.

This basically means YES I WOULD BE VERY OFFENDED but because I’m a boy I can pretend I don’t understand sarcasm? So with my mother’s seal of approval, I’m all booked to go to Brighton to visit the best friend a person could wish for. (cheeeeese)

I’m packing the laptop away now, so I’ll bid you all a farewell and I’ll (hopefully) see you on the other side - weather depending, of course.
